Who hasn’t thought of travelling in time? It is perhaps the most alluring of all science-fiction scenarios, having attracted the imaginations of top writers and thinkers.
Yet the vaults of time have been opened. There is one book that tops all the rest, when it comes to answering the unsolvable riddles of time. It is the Bible, built upon a framework of time that invisibly rests upon the twin pillars of the timeless past and the eternal future.
Its prophets are real men travelling in real time. Elijah departs in the days of Ahaz and Jezebel in the 9th century B.C., and returns at the time of Christ and His disciples. He is scheduled to appear again in our near future.
John, the disciple closest to the heart of Jesus, walks through a dimensional door in our past and, travels to a time yet in our future, and returns to tell the world what he saw.
They see the end from the beginning, the rise and fall of evil and the final victory of love. They witness time’s symmetries and its circles … its multiple universes, its creatures and their conflicts, revealing that time is the pattern of redemption. They are the Prophets and Apostles, the world’s only documented time travelers.
